1. Return the clear table that contained seas,
You will find in it a sea of knowledge that gathered tables.

2. Dive into its deep and derive every unique pearl,
With which he who was idle adorned himself among people.

3. That is the sweet Euphrates that became clear,
And with it the thirst of intellects was quenched from springs.

4. It did not flow until it flowed as a meadow and a source,
And it revived the withered and the flexibilities.

5. A book that narrated the knowledge of Al-Khalil bin Ahmad,
So it earned from us abundant perfect praise.

6. And a journey on benefaction that prospered happily,
So through it collecting virtue was achieved.

7. And he expressed on behalf of a most eloquent author,
So he astonished until he made the mind lost.

8. Determination loved that composer of works,
To increase through it among people firmness and attainment.

9. So the bow is not to be compared to the equivalent,
And can the bow of eloquence be compared to the lowly?

10. We knew about him a right that must be heeded;
With it contends whoever sees right as wrong.

11. May the God of the Throne reward him with goodness, for
His efforts have excelled in making good all-encompassing.
