1. With sleepless eyes I gaze upon the horizon,
Weary of darkness, O men, and filled with sorrow.

2. My heart burns with embers that find no rest,
And with grief, my tears flow in streams.

3. My wounded heart languishes in yearning
For loved ones, consumed by devotion and desire.

4. Those dear to my heart are gone from me,
Yet their memory lingers, never to fade.

5. I long to see them again in waking dreams,
And hope someday these dreams will come true.

6. Each time I say our reunion draws near,
The days push it farther away from me.

7. For a time they were close, but alas,
Nothing in this life can last forever.

8. Ah, will the nights be kind, I wonder,
And bring an end to this separation?

9. Gladly I would give all I have
To see our tents pitched side by side again.

10. Were it but known if trials are but shadows,
Where are those people and days of joy?

11. Time has folded them after spreading
The fragrance of their fellowship to the world.

12. All things perish except the Eternal,
And after union comes parting, such is life.
