1. To you my heart has no rest though nightingales warble
When they trill atop the boughs though nightingales warble

2. Your memory stirs a departed beloved
Whose abodes were Zarud and Huzwa and Aqeeq's hills

3. My tears have watered those abodes, and washed them
Not the clouds' downpour and showers have washed them

4. In them settles one whose name I never confess
A gazelle, though the sanctuary’s far, I flirt with him

5. His beauty being rare refined his composure
Brocade and his veil, his anklets fell silent

6. I, not forgetful, pass my nights at Al-Hima
Spent, and meadows’ bloom and life’s ease drained

7. Nights when the wolf of Sarim is not brandishing arms
Nor is the one I pine for hindered by aloofness

8. How many blame my heart though it sank in passion
While the passion’s innocence and misdeeds are his

9. For God's sake, a heart that wildly plunged in love
Caring not for blame, its passions ever smolder

10. In the splendid robe from Abraq Al-Hima’s meadows
A fawn guarding it from the mischief of time's nails

11. It grazes as the Rudaini grazed the feast
And it stirs in wonder as did the feast's maker

12. With supple shanks and bent back it circles
Not the gentle branch nor its tilt

13. I clung to it in my youth and prime
And nothing of my days' sorrows clung to me

14. I feared for it the woe of absence and estrangement
Yet hasty separation dealt me its swift blow

15. To God, O innermost soul torn apart in passion
For you which I persistently endure

16. And I pleaded against the mischief of distance
Repeating this plea while its evils repeated

17. If fortune keeps afflicting me with parting and wrong
And the balm of reunion is fraught with woe

18. I still hope to attain what I've aspired for
As the aspirations of the hopeful Yahya attained

19. He is generous, his gifts and bestowals
Fulfilling what his protection assured seekers

20. Of the noble souls whose glory fortified
Glory’s thrust, reinforcing its shoulders

21. Indeed he cloaked the soul of loftiness in his munificence
And covered excellence itself in his mantles

22. Magnanimous, he sees bestowing gifts an obligation
So his supererogations ever spread

23. He has immense ambition transcending summits
Before which the highest aspirations fall short

24. Greatest man of resolve who gained glory through resolve
Noblest lord who exceeded the ultimate attainment

25. My hopeful soul is certain it lives on
Through Yahya when his widespread bounties submerged all

26. A brother of mine whose brotherly affections
Remained, sustained through his righteous connection

27. Congratulations on glory O son of Ahmed which
Kept your outstanding traits and merits circulated

28. God willed to grant you the sublime soveriegnty
And elevate you with the glory which you shouldered

29. And you kept seeking by your noble deeds
A status beyond the reach of aspirants

30. You have sufficiently been given a rank
To which every finger points out

31. I will give thanks for the flowers you gifted me
Which the dew of beauty breezes through

32. And I will praise the necklaces you strung
Adorned with them my idle praise found purpose

33. So farewell, safe from every ill, congratulated
For what you attained in life and aspire to gain

34. This being but some of my thanks, though what thanks suffices?
For what you gifted me beyond what I can express
