The laughing veils,

2. The blowing breezes,
With the moaning doves,

3. And the kneeling jugs,
Welcoming the cups,

4. Bowing and raised
Towards the sky with heads,

5. And something of that more wondrous,
A full moon shining like suns

6. Rising perfectly,
Dispelling the wings of darkness,

7. Like a well-crafted rod,
Shaking among the dunes,

8. And in the morning light,
And that dawn forehead,

9. And scurrying scorpions
Have spoiled my faith.

10. O healer of the sick,
O life of the people,

11. Jesus son of Mary,
Reviver of dead bones,

12. If you had guided me
I would have said Moses is enough for me!

13. In you lies my reliance,
O you of the beautiful gazelle.

14. And I call and call out,
To make my gloomy fate smile

15. What use is darkness?
