1. The night of passion is sleepless,
And love is the soil of vigilance,

2. And patience has betrayed me,
And sleep has fled from my eyes.

3. O garden of intimacy,
The meadow of wishes is barren without you.

4. If not for you,
I would be a stranger among my people and home.

5. Your approval is to the soul
Like youth to the elderly,

6. And water to the thirsty,
And ease to the afflicted.

7. And the Garden of Ridwan,
After the Greatest Tribulation.

8. O you who deny the excuses
Of those who have not fallen in love,

9. O you who show deprivation
As beautiful in the eyes of the wretched.

10. O supporter of passions
Over the piety of every devout.

11. O proof of the lovers
Against the retiring introvert.

12. O partner of minds,
O shackle in the eye of the beholder.

13. He has marked me with reversed marks,
With the marks that captivate hearts,

14. That coveted blemish,
Not what the patience of liars claimed.

15. O unjustly beloved one,
Offender made sweet through offenses.

16. They slandered you with falsehood,
So failed the effort of the slanderer.

17. Would the thirsty one
Find fault with the water of Al-Kawthar?

18. After him, my eyes
More rightly pour the water of tears.

19. After him, I was compensated
With the full moon grazing the two Pleiades.

20. Certainty has come upon His servant
In his union without a doubt.

21. When his bewilderment was without effort
And living was easy on the eyes,

22. And his rejection and enmity
And his abandonment went unnoticed.

23. The crescent of brilliance,
The branch of softness and the musk of price,

24. The bliss of cheeks,
A wretchedness cured of illness.

25. Permitter of passions,
Its fire raised on a flag.

26. O owner of the shop,
They warned you though my news has spread.

27. It avails the secret-keeper nothing,
The perfumer who traded openly.
