4. In him all aspects of beauty are gathered

As the batting of his lashes is to the heart.

Seek his nearness, but beware his wrath.

13. Amid bloodshed and the Indian swords' clashing,
You would think him relaxing with wine and lute.

14. As if the brown lances in his grip were rods
Above which ripe fruits dangle.

15. His might frightened rebels, even as his manners
Were created from the freshest flowers.

16. By God, if the envious assailed him, they would find
No fault but that he shared mankind's nature.

Above the station of the highest stars!
