So the next day the length of estrangement became his fate

2. The passion's clarifier, abandoned yet keen
Denied, innocent, yet blamed

He would return with the returning, his melter

8. However much he delights to see you, his eye
A tear bewildered amidst it, poured out

Pillow-talk leads him astray, and his moan

10. So the tear with you in daylight is its adversary
And the pillow-talk with you at night is its watcher

And when does he awaken? And from his grief, its healer?
