1. I lost my way by the moonlight
While people found their way by the moon

2. Moses nullified sorcery in the past
And Moses comes today with sorcery

3. Of exquisite traits yet forbidden
So do not pelt him except with thoughts

4. Like water in the clouds, like pearls in
Oyster shells, like the falcon in the desert

5. If only he had cried for a houri
Who had cast him between magic and slaughter

6. And if he called upon the dead with his words
He would have answered him from the grave

7. A pearl its prose and words
So they titled him the starry pearl

8. They did not protect against his eyes
But protected people's passionate love from his eyes

9. As if the moles on his cheek
Were the blackness of my heart amidst burning coal

10. My blood flowed in his cheek as a dye
And from it the place of my misery turned black

11. Oh his languid eyes take my brain
Maybe it benefits or makes amend

12. And do not avert your glance from my eyelids
And spill my blood sweetly and take my reward

13. Oh Joseph of beauty, oh cupbearer
Of estrangement, pity my passionate love

14. I fear for you the abundance of my tears
While you are in my eyes as you know

15. You are in truth Moses, so indeed
You are safe from drowning in the sea
