1. By the one who guided my body’s strength
His glance alluring

2. And quenched my thirst the day my wish was fulfilled
And woe to he who deceived

3. Whenever I yearn for comfort in passion
I stray and become arrogant

4. Oh how he who made me a captive
Took my soul hostage

5. He left in the maidens no compensation
In the presence of contentment

6. He passed by me in the dust of his soil
Plucking flowers

7. Reciting a verse from his recitation
Seeking reward

8. After freeing me from his nearness
With another verse

9. By the one who if he willed would not have freed me
After forgetfulness

10. He tossed the heart into the embers of wrath
While being glorious

11. May God protect the beloved who packed up
Fearing abandonment

12. The good news came with him, and I relaxed
When I heard it

13. And my heart flew from me in joy
Then I did not know

14. Was it from mankind who gave me the news
Or from the Jinn

15. Or the beloved of my heart bringing acceptance
For he is my authority
