1. When a man seeks help from one with no power to aid
Then his supporter and the cowardly are the same

2. I am the son of the one whose standing you know
And falsehood cannot sully the brilliant truth

3. Is not the Messenger of God my grandfather and father?
I am the full moon, though stars diminish and fade

4. Yazid disputes with me, but by God, it is not up to him
I and him, this matter is not as he would have it swayed

5. So supporters of God, you are his trustees
And caretakers of his religion, stalwart and staid

6. By what book or practice of the Prophet
Have the transgressors taken this, tell me, I pray
