1. We counselled you with advice hoping for its reward
From God, not seeking praise or thanks

2. And we with hidden secrets are harboring
Privately we confide in you, yet loudly we make ourselves heard

3. So do not overdo or overstudy the matter
Nor conceal it, or over-occupy yourselves with it

4. And if you delve into it with knowledge and wisdom
Then patience over what lies before you, patience

5. And do not overindulge, but rather do good
Prepare for yourselves what lies before you as provision

6. And this concludes the words of wisdom
