1. When you gain your brother's love, keep it,
For time may change and fade the glow.
١. جامِلْ أخاك إِذا استربْتَ بوُدِّهِ
وانْظُرْ به عُقَبَ الزمان يعاودِ
2. But if corruption stays within his heart,
Then break with him, as branches lopped from trees.
٢. وإنِ استَمَرَّ به الفَسادُ فخَلِّهِ
فالغُصْنُ يُقْطَعُ للفسادِ الزائدِ
