1. The wise man spoke words of wisdom
Giving advice and uncovering envy

2. Have you not seen that our bodies
Have endurance for fire and resilience within it

3. Yet our souls tend to flee
When the blaze of fire touches the body

4. Becoming its enemy at first
When the fire begins to kindle

5. And becomes its friend in the end
Sticking to it after it ignites

6. So whoever fuels it, fuels its intensity
And hue, so it reflects back upon him

7. Do not underestimate the meager ashes
For our goal in it is when it settles

8. And do not grow weary of the long wait
Until it is complete and the child is born
