1. The stars of glory rise in you
And their absent ones return towards you

2. Glory that ascends and does not settle
Except at your door where it lays down

3. And a glory I sense in your arrival
If it leaves you, it withers away

4. It has with you an open page
And with others besides you a broken cheek

5. A banner lowered by the hands of calamities
While others' banners are raised

6. In raising them to glory is mockery
And in lowering them to people is terror

7. And a pasture alternated by crisis
After which it grows barren

8. It is a tall palm tree battered by storms
It cries out at times but does not uproot

9. A white sword disturbed by wars
Sheathed by its impenetrable scabbard

10. A purpose on which resolves are united
And a heart on its concerns deaf

11. It had not gone away before the eyes of glory
Overflow and their souls roar

12. And few are the consolers so no scream
Is answered and no grit is removed

13. So from tears shed by the eyes
The like of them wound the tearful

14. And from sighs exhaled by the darkness of night
Ribs reject the like of them

15. Yet it came to pass that anguish is calmed
And tears ceased flowing for its loss

16. The path of glory gloomed after it
And the fearful course became desolate

17. To us it appeared through the calamities
As the polished wood appears

18. And the arrows of enemies missed it
Leaving their bows without a notch

19. And the envious spent the night in their displeasure
Biting their fingers in regret

20. He whom the eyes of enemies cannot reach
How can their arms reach him?
