1. The heights did not cease seeking the able one for it
Until it settled for the inhabited domain of your abode

2. Wide courtyards, green bowers surrounding it
From which the gardens of eternity pour their bounty upon you

3. You have risen above the horizon of hopes
So who competes with you, who equals you?

4. Glory refuses that you dwell in any station
Until you don the cloak of disgrace and shame

5. What is wrong with your sea that its ships do not ply?
How can they ply when they have not reached your ports?

6. You have not unsheathed the sword of thrust from a gall bladder
From a heart and an arm whose striking is imminent

7. Receive good tidings of attaining your wishes, their brides
Lead to you accompanied therein by your desires

8. You doubted the backs of horses grown weary
And if you doubted, then wealth will dispel your doubt

9. It casts at you unfolded sheets
So do not weary, do not seek to defy

10. The comets wander confused in their depths
As the wind toys with them or races with you

11. When passions rise high in their climaxes
Their steeds kneel before you out of exhaustion

12. It urges them on while the sun drinks from the basin of mist
And it disappears while the darkness of night shelters you

13. Until you cleave the night with the first light of dawn
A rising you greeted and morning that revives you

14. When the stars appear and behold with wonder
They have seen castles beyond your qualities

15. They see you farther than them in rank and extent
And loftier in honor and glory as you ascend

16. They have not seen by their spread in the west their hands
Until they saw above their abode your ambitions

17. The west felt shy before you and veiled itself
Since by its extent it attained not some of what is in you

18. When the steeds spanned what is between the four points
To reach the echo of my passion meeting you

19. I shod them with my eyelids and said to them
"Bear the burden of my eyes when I shut them"

20. I wasted their reins with kisses and spread them out
As cheek pillows when you draw them near

21. How many nights black as the night gloom hid them
Its darkness wings vast, sheltering you

22. My tears drawing the mourning near the wandering stars
Inclining toward you with trains that hide you

23. Had not the spark of resolve ignited
The heart of the gloom with the Pleiades wherein are your sides

24. For the comets there is a pause of fear in their orbits
But no hesitation held you back in your courses

Are planets in the glory of your triumph speaking of you

26. And the moon quakes in the green land from awe
As if it were a frightened heart calling to you

27. You determined that sleep will not alight
Until you obtain despite resistance your farthest goals

And your quarter inhabited and your family secure

29. A firmness time does not soften
Protects you from the guile of enviers and guards you

30. Good fortune met you with wonders
When your diverse meanings appeared to it

31. It pleases it, the pure wine of the goblets circulated by
