1. O Messenger of God, am I
Among the caravan transgressing,

2. I wonder yearning
Far from you anguished,

3. Shall I say to my love
As she is clad in tears,

4. And Sura has cast it
In the sanctuary of that valley,

5. Be resolute or be patient
This is the house of Ahmed

6. This is the soil of guidance
So excel or be guided

7. Where is your call in passion
Issue from it or refuse it

8. Lord of tears I shed
In shadows and in chaff

9. And cattle I pastured
In the sanctuary of God transgressing,

10. You are not of me and not of you
When you broke your promise to me

11. So draw the red tears
From the heart stretching out

12. And sprinkle off you what has passed
And wash today with tomorrow
