1. I love the dawn and I love the evening
And I adore the darkness and I adore the light

Life and death vie for my existence

3. The meanings of life are like its times
So what was bad went badly and what was good went well

4. When the sun sends out its light
Like a spring of ruby pouring out water

5. And it flows like melted amber
Watering the universe, the sky and the air

6. It glitters like the tears of maidens
As if their cheeks were cups

7. And the cold of night is but a damsel
Who melts in yearning and illuminates the radiance

8. Beauty donned mourning
And revealed every glowing face

9. And if night falls, darkness arises
Raging like a mind which lost its wits

10. As if the melodies displayed their hair
And veiled their faces in shyness

11. So the sun of morn is spilling ruby
While we called the ruby wit

12. And the moon of darkness is that damsel
The sheen of the damsel shines with purity

13. For darkness is but annihilation
When she and us are displayed to each other

14. And our talk of sun and moon and dawn
And night in life are but pretense

15. For life is thus spent
A time in darkness and a time in light

16. Only the beholder’s eye differs
One sees misery, one sees bliss

17. For light is but life, so one
Saw it as morn, and one as evening
