1. My patience and composure have passed
Since the bright moon of Ban disappeared

And sight lost him, feeling his absence

3. After our separation I found in him
Courage and calm, a bold yet gentle man

4. No fault in some fear for one so young
Seeking in me safety and refuge

5. His cheeks aflame, his eyes like gardens
Of beauty blooming, pomegranate red

6. His temple bears sadness, his cheek a rose
His smile contains all joy and pleasure

7. I housed him in my heart though it burns
For only paradise suits the holy

8. In my heart he has a dwelling place
Though for the sublime, loftier still

9. Scholar yet simple, separate yet one
Concise in speech, precise in meaning

10. The watchful seer, his eyes suffice
Beyond the dark lashes, bright his gaze

11. Perfect in merit, swift to help, pure
Capacious, upright, gentle and wise

12. His nature intimates goodness to you
Secrets of noble manners lie in him

13. Rising like the full moon but indeed
The sun without a halo's dimming light

14. If the Merciful unites me with him
The seasons of time will cease their turning
