1. You have enriched me in every state
With what you have bestowed of status and wealth

2. And you have secured me from every fear
That monitors from a place or saying

3. So neither do the days harbor malice towards me
For my being in your sight, nor the nights

4. Religion has issued a plea for protection
With your love from the hatred of men

5. You have made all people envious of me
With what you have granted me of gifts

6. And how much wealth I have in Egypt
Yet my poverty does not cross its mind

7. They meet my praise with gratitude
So I content myself with the impossible over the possible

8. And in me is a weakness that grows over time
In a frail body like beads

9. And fever has become like a well in me
Through which the heat of July passes without change

10. And in me is scabies, if it persists it tells
The carnelian runs over it

11. And my life has died in somnolence
Wake for me now that my illness has subsided
