1. There is in the fire that has befallen it
A secret from the rational ones, do not hide it
١. للّه في النارِ التي وقَعَت به
سرٌّ عن العقلاء لا تُخفيه
2. That there remains in its demise no trace
Of what the Umayyads built therein
٢. أن ليسَ يَبقى في فناهُ بقيةٌ
مما بَنَتهُ بنو أمَيَّةَ فيهِ
