1. I am pleased with Buthaina for that which
If the slanderer saw it, his nightingales would stop singing.
١. وَإِنّي لَأَرضى مِن بُثَينَةَ بِالَّذي
لَوَ اَبصَرَهُ الواشي لَقَرَّت بَلابِلُه
2. With neither promise nor appointment I can manage,
And with hope, until the one who hopes tires of the promise.
٢. بِلا وَبِأَلّا أَستَطيعَ وَبِالمُنى
وَبِالوَعدِ حَتّى يَسأَمَ الوَعدَ آمِلُه
3. With the hasty glance and the tryst whose
Ending we do not meet, and the beginning.
٣. وَبِالنَظرَةِ العَجلى وَبِالحَولِ تَنقَضي
أَواخِرُهُ لا نَلتَقي وَأَوائِلُه
