1. I stood amidst the ruins of an abode,
I almost spent the morning lost in its grandeur.

2. Desolate, with no one to be seen,
The wind softly blows on its leveled soil.

3. And on the ground a dead ostrich lies,
Prey of a prowling beast in its lair.

4. Between Alia and Wabish then Buliyy,
And the clouds moving toward its mountain.

5. Standing in the land of Umm Husainโs abode,
From the dawn of her day to its sunset.

6. O my friend, verily Umm Husainโs abode,
When the ailing draws near his demise,

ุญููู ููุฏูู ุงูุถูุฌูุนู ู
ูู ุนูููููู
7. Is a garden, aromatic and flowering,
Where spring has poured forth from its veins.

ุฌุงุฏู ูููุง ุงูุฑูุจูุนู ู
ูู ุณูุจูููู
8. While they were together under the canopies,
A rider on his camel appeared.

ุฅูุฐ ุจูุฏุง ุฑุงููุจู ุนููู ุฌูู

9. So they veiled themselves, and said to her,
โBe generous, greet him in your dwellings.โ
ูฉ. ููุชูุฃูุทููุฑูู ุซูู
ูู ููููู ูููุง
ุฃููุฑูู
ููู ุญูููููุชู ูู ููุฒูููู
10. We took shade and comfort there,
And drank the halal water from its riverbeds.

11. I conceal this story from a brother,
Fearing no harm would come his way from it.

12. Not out of hatred nor avoidance,
Only that I grew weary of his anxiety.

13. One friend's company I enjoyed,
