Poetry renewed my sorrows

4. And evoked love and longing
In those remains

5. O breeze of yesterday, O one
In whom my place never lacked

6. When we used to indulge
Secretly in comfort and pray

7. Ashamed even of
The stars and the full moon

8. Where is my evening, and she who
Her love made wretched?

9. O heart, to its murmur
And the screaming of waves in the shadow

10. Water billowing, and its sighing
And the wailing of wind as it clashes

11. With the waves on rocks
A funeral arose in the mind

12. For the captive soul
Is this raging, clamorous one

13. Who lit the embers
And from the ruins and ghosts

14. What ignites passion?
I am thirsty, and how many

15. Stories quenched thirst!
About the brunette, tell me,

For it is for the heart, and how much I chanted it

30. In its prayers
I listened to it in her temple

31. From her expressions
Be a yearning, O night, with the secret it proclaimed

32. Wandering, seeking in your wings
A treasure it lost

33. It is like the sailor when
The sea swallowed his goods

34. And it sailed the wind and waves
But courage did not avail

35. O nights of intimacy and infatuation
With the recent past

36. How much did a phantom of your memory
Appear to me, a phantom of a beloved

37. So longing prevailed, and dissipation
May preoccupy some hearts

38. I'm not anymore preoccupied after you
By happiness and bliss

39. My drinking companions, sorrow
Has challenged in my heart the wine

And draw inspiration from the darkness

For yesterday and its morsels

43. And today's breeze blew
Upon my heart from its slumber

Passed with its virtues

Of its memories

O Hind, bewildered

Night and day, and the sands
