1. I wonder at her, she does not settle in one state
Oh how much adversity you have encountered, my weary body

2. She sings in the darkness around her palaces
And at the break of dawn she weeps over ruins

3. Oh what a soul you are, for whom I stayed up at night
With a watching eye, wandering among the stars

4. And one like me who makes poetry a ladder
To attain the soul's wishes will spurn wealth

5. Many a high man sees people below him
Though among people he is of lowly state

6. If my poverty stems from my consciousness
Then die, oh riches, and long live my poetry and paucity
