1. Who depends on his own mind
And pays no heed to reason

2. Will find out when it's too late
That the season has a lesson

3. No matter what the dot might show
That he thinks will be his home

4. He must beware the fatal flaw
For life can prove a loan

5. He walks the line both straight and fine
And makes the path his own

6. Tomorrow though his shape may slow
When mired in the loam

7. His legs may stick, slip and quick
To earth his body's thrown

8. Yet up the rungs he's not yet done
Climbing up high alone

9. And down in turn, lesson learned
Returns to next stepping stone

10. Gentle yet persistent he
Regains the summit's crown

11. As all of him that's living
In fullness is laid down

12. The Absolute appears in light
When empty he's become

13. Who turns within to Self again
Has capped the pilgrim's dome

14. Lest he rejoice in selfish joys
The threads will come undone

15. Let not dark times rule your climes
When rent the robes you've won

16. Beware your ignorance prevails
Seeking for others' gold

17. Or secret knowledge assails
And problems manifold

18. Yearning's the pilgrim's road indeed
And in God-quest lies the key

19. All else is but excess weed
To Oneness points the way

20. Who sees the One, the journey's done
All meanings merge in Thee

21. Your being's whole, your ship's come home
After life's stormy sea

22. Leave off what others say, their way
Has cracked, gone obsolete

23. My song is done, my race is run
The time for me is sweet

24. I've split the dark, embarked the ark
The day stands tall complete

25. Who rails against our earthly ranks
Their loss cannot be met

26. While union with the Friend again
Is pearl of price long sought

27. So speaks the truth - I was uncouth
But now redemption's brought
