1. My beloved has appeared

١. مَحْبوبي قد تجَّلى
في قلبي لَمْ يغيبْ
2. As I sip gently
Wine infused with perfume
٢. وأنا بكاسي نمْلاَ
خمراً مُزِجْ بطيبْ
3. He has dwelled in my abode
And become my fortune
٣. لقد سكنْ في داري
وصار لي نصيب
4. While I in my minaret
The present, the absent
٤. وأنا في مَنَارِي
الحاضِرِ الغاييب
5. I have become in my orbit
Intoxicated, rapturous, delightful
٥. قد صرتُ في مداري
اسْكرْ واهيم وطيب
6. I wish meanings would appear
While forms remain veiled
٦. ريتْ المعاني تَجْلى
والشكلُ قد حُجيب
7. My cup has filled up
My bosom has poured forth
٧. وكاسي قد تملا
ودنِّي قد سُكيب
8. Meanings have appeared
While shadows have vanished
٨. تجلتِ المعاني
وغابتِ الظِلاَل
9. Vessels are shattered
Examples torn apart
٩. وكُسر الأواني
ومُزِّقَ المِثالْ
10. And through me you can see
In the wake of decline
١٠. وفيَّا قد تراني
في عَقِبِ الزالْ
11. O my seeker, leave
The mold of illusion
١١. يا طالبي تخلى
عن قالب القليبْ
12. Ascend to the highest station
And most spacious dwelling
١٢. ترقى المقامَ الأعلى
والمنزلَ الرحيبْ
13. Enter the lofty monastery
To the highest summit
١٣. تدخْلِ لديرِ عالِي
في أرفع العلا
14. A collection of revelations
A composition of beauty
١٤. مجموعٌ من الغوالي
منظومٌ من الحلا
15. You are given to drink from the pure
A cup, come accept
١٥. تُسقى من الزلالِ
كاسٌ لكَ اقبلا
16. Enter the garden of Layla
And her fertile meadow
١٦. تدخلْ لِحَيْ ليلى
وروضِها الخصيبْ
17. She will appear and unveil to you
With her wondrous beauty
١٧. تبدو إِليكَ تُجلى
بحسنِها العجِيبْ
18. O my dear friend
Come closer, behold the marvel
١٨. يا خِلي يا رفيقي
قَرِّبْ ترى عجبْ
19. Of the true gathering
And the intimacy and rapture
١٩. للمحفَل الحقيقي
والدَّنِ والطربْ
20. And tread the path
You will arrive without toil
٢٠. واسلكْ على الطريق
تصلْ بلا تعب
21. And approach swiftly
The court of the Beloved
٢١. وادنو بغيرِ مهلهْ
لحضرةِ الحبيبْ
22. Robes will be bestowed on you
With which to confound the critic
٢٢. تُخلع عليك حُلَّه
تنكى بها الرقِيبْ
23. Approach with the loved ones
To the gentle dwelling
٢٣. ادنو مع الحبايبْ
للمنزل المُنيفْ
24. And ascend the degrees
Of glory and intimacy
٢٤. واصعدْ على مراتبْ
المجد واتّصيِفْ
25. You will behold marvels
Beyond powers of intimacy
٢٥. ترَى منَ العجائبْ
ما لَمْ تَطِق تصيِف
26. If you wish to devote
All supplication responds
٢٦. إِن شِئْتَ أن تُوَلِّي
كلُّ الدُّعا مُجيبْ
27. And be enriched and filled
From our strange arts
٢٧. وتَغْتَني وَتمْلاَ
من فنِّنا الغريبْ
28. You will see existence existent
While the Exister has vanished
٢٨. تَرَى الوجودْ موجودْ
والواجِدْ اندثرْ
29. And naught but You remains
And whoever appeared, vanished
٢٩. وما سِواكْ مفقودْ
ومَنْ بَدا ظهرْ
30. Bind yourself to Yourself alone
And gaze at the Eternal
٣٠. اعقِد لِوَاكْ وانفردْ
مع السِّويِ النَظرْ
31. For whoever is rejected attains
And whoever loses gains
٣١. فمن عَذَلْ يُوَلي
ومَن فَقَد يُصِيبْ
32. And whoever unites appears
And whoever is far is near
٣٢. ومَن وصَلْ تَجَلِّى
ومَن بَعَدْ قَريبْ
33. You see yourself in Yourself manifest
While Your creation is erased
٣٣. تراكَ فيك ظاهرْ
وحرفُكْ انطماسْ
34. And phenomena celebrate
While senses are veiled
٣٤. وتحتفي المظاهرْ
وتُحْجَبْ الحَوَاسْ
35. And naught but You remains
So be on your guard
٣٥. وما سوَاك داثرْ
فخذْ في الاحتراس
36. Never reveal your secret
Or you will be tried and tested
٣٦. إِياك تبُوحْ أصلاً
بسرِّكَ المريبْ
37. But be loyal and wise
٣٧. فتُمتحنْ وتُبْلَى
وكنْ أمينْ لبيبْ
