How manifest yet concealed You are

2. If You disappear from my sight
With the eye of my heart I see You

Nor is Your secret hidden from me

4. Your command, judgment and decree
Apply to the living and dead alike

5. We look at things and see
Your subtle kindness pervades all

6. You are eternal, never changing
Your power overwhelms humankind

7. Both the wrongdoer and the righteous
How can they evade Your command?

8. Whoever desires to see God
Let him look upon all existence

9. Silent or articulate, inanimate or alive
In every being he will see God

10. Without incarnation or dimension
Without dimension or incarnation

11. You will see only the God who ordained you
And all He created and sowed

12. He wants to test you with
O One without equal or likeness

13. Without peer or parallel
And he who recites and says

14. We pass the long night with Him
Forgive the reciter who says

15. And the one who makes this plea to Him
O night, be long or do not be long

16. I am obliged to keep You company
If my moon stayed with me

17. I would not tend to Your moon
