1. Grant me the robe of Your pleasure, O my Lord
So I may find and meet You pure

2. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

3. We want, O Lord, a robe
And you make it for me out of generosity

4. And let its silk be soft
Unlike what is spun by worms

5. And we want it woven by the Maker
With virtues from all the praiseworthy traits

6. And made for it are types
Of the pleasing deeds

7. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

8. And let the one in the garb, his tools
Be from the finest garments

9. And with what ablution purifies
Or with the tear of sincere repentance

10. Pure from impurities
And from ostentation and self-admiration

11. So when it exudes and becomes
Illuminated with the light of guidance

12. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

13. And detail it for me, my Lord
With the scissors of cutting attachments

14. And let voluntary fasting be
The body alongside vigilance

15. And sew it with what is necessitated
With threads of truths

16. And let it have functions
Of the satisfying morals

17. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

18. And let my right sleeve
Contain my asceticism with my certainty

19. And let my left sleeve
Be my choicest trustee

20. And let my pocket be filled
With piety and the pillars of my faith

21. And wrap it around me, O God
With your subtle kindnesses

22. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

23. And from the tears of love
Let the Beloved and the path be

24. And let its fabric be good
And spinning pure and delicate

25. So that its work comes imprinted
Proportionate and precise

26. And make it, O God, its warp
And free of faults

27. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

28. And from reverence, O Lord
Let the matter be confirmed

29. And it smells fragrant at Your mention
And becomes more aromatic than musk

30. And the prayer upon Muhammad
Remains upon my tongue

31. What would make the slaves rejoice
If given this grant

32. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

33. For the dress of this robe for me
Is superior to what can be worn

34. And more sublime than what
Is sought and treasured

35. I fear meeting You, my Beloved
In blackened, soiled sins

36. This is not just, my God
Pardon me

37. How much do I wish for its dress
O Generous, dress it upon me

38. I have extended hope for it
Perhaps I may attain my wishes

39. And my state and time improve
With my reaching perfection

40. To You, O Lord, I incline
And on You lies my reliance

41. That you illuminate my body with it
Before death comes to me

42. How much do I wish for its dress
