1. Had I not known that he who perishes abides,
I would have never been absent from you.

The meeting became pleasant for me.

And became familiar with piety,

5. After I had been confused.
The decrees helped me,

6. God bid peace, so I submitted.
Understand my question, my beloved,

7. And wake up, enliven the nights.
The dawn of your union is near,

8. So listen and hear my words,
And soon come back,

9. If it appears to you I have known.
And I, my son, am advising you,

10. Every time you die you live.
If you understand,

11. Observe the secret within you,
And let your soul surrender,

12. To your obvious enemy.
And seek knowledge to know,

13. Through it we deny any partner.
You remain after you have known,

14. Guarding the secret of meanings,
However God wills, I willed.

15. O gentle of meanings!
You sailed the sea of knowledge,

16. And left behind the vessels.
Beneath, beneath the encampments,

17. None can see the creepers,
Except the like of stars.

18. Thus, if you were left
With your soul's fortune,

19. You were not specified with guidance.
Since my overseer disappeared,

20. Trouble left me.
And my beloved appeared,

21. And I attained my wishes,
And my healer quenched my thirst,

22. With the drink of bliss.
But indeed I got drunk,

23. And truly lost consciousness,
And departed from my existence.
