1. The Duties of Man in His Life
To worship God and fear Him

2. And to accept what He has decreed
Not objecting to His rule

3. Know that knowledge is light and guidance
While ignorance never leads to good

4. Glory to Him who gave us the pen
And taught man what he knew not

5. He who pursues knowledge and wisdom
Will reap the fruits of glory wherever he is

6. While abstaining from knowledge is deprivation
A man is known by his heart and tongue

7. He whom the arts of his time do not refine
Remains scorned in the eyes of the astute

8. Studying the ways of the times
Is a necessity for man

9. He who is not seasoned by experience
Lives his life like a stranger

10. A man’s honor comes from his capital
So do not debase yourself by asking

11. And seek from His bounty, exalted is He
A good and pure lawful provision

12. The most deprived of people
Is one who spends his days hoping

13. So rise to do good as much as you can
For contentment is the believer's treasure

14. Moderation in living is prudent
While wealth does not last with squandering

15. As you judge in this world so shall you be judged
And he who insults others will be insulted

16. Do not frequent places of conflict
Lies, slander and hypocrisy

17. For our Lord, exalted is His glory
Commands justice and benevolence

18. Use gentleness and you will find a friend
But a fool will have no companions
