1. Throw him into battle and give him courage
Then ask him about ambition

2. Is his tomb near
Or with the stars has he aimed

3. If in heaven he be
I am content and do not insist

4. Al-Mufaddal has fulfilled for me
The sons of Ubad and did not fail

5. And we weighed him with generosity
So he equaled and excelled

6. So he has virtue wherever
he was, over whoever scorned and was stingy
