14. And if the matter becomes twisted
Be content with what you were given and settle

15. And indeed I have suffered from the injustice of one
The days were amazed by her, and from the cup of nectar

16. So that virtuous time of hers has passed
And I pushed frivolity away from me, so it slid

17. And indeed I said to one who visited me

18. Fate gave me my youth as a gift
And so is fate, with sweetness and harm

19. O you who visit the days gone by
Many a glorious day awaits you

20. It mended life, so rejoice in fortune
A neighborโs successor is an unknown life

21. And a leader whom the eminent people have
Underlings who execute whatever he commands

22. I visited him one day and he brought me near
And gifted me with carpets and necklaces

23. And to a well-mannered youth I said
Make the poetry noble then recite

24. The Abyssinians do not like you to praise them
Fearing good deeds - the Abyssinians are no nobles

So he has a lesson from this and a lesson from that

26. And a little hyena threatened me
Like a lion rouser at night without knowing

27. He wishes me dead and if I meet him
He fears my attack so he retreats

28. A virgin's nature desires marriage
Yet fears it, so there are no grave sins

29. A father from the Bani Nahya tribe prohibited him
The sword's edge is crippled at the wound

30. Blame recoils over its shoulders
And you see praise upon it is lame

ููุชูุฑู ุงูุญูู
ุฏู ุนูููููู ููุงูุนูููุฑ
31. He turned me away though I confronted him
The obstacle was the flowering jujube's pebbly ground

ุนููุจูุฉู ุงูุฃูุฒููุฑู ููุถูุงุถู ุงูุญูุฌูุฑ
32. So I refused to grant permission
To a bright pulpit's flowing robes

33. In awe or lust for his affection
He can if he wishes make it sweet or bitter

34. A king whom if you treat him gently
Things go smoothly, but if you make it hard, then hardship

35. The stirrer of war and key to tranquility
With him there is gain for some and harm for others

ู ููุถูุฑ
36. The disease of a rebel and healer of strife
Who unleashed war and ignited flames

ูุฏุงูู ููุชููุฉู
ุณูููุฑูุช ุญูุฑุจุงู ูููุงุญูุช ุชูุณุชูุนูุฑ
37. His partisans seek safety from death through him
When the wind dried and sight split

ููุชู ุจููู ุฃูุดูุงุนููู
ุญููู ุฌูููู ุงูุฑูุญู ููุงููุดูููู ุงูุจูุตูุฑ
38. A lion who awakens the fires of turmoil
And if terror shakes him he settles
ูฃูจ. ุฃูุณูุฏู ููุฑููุฏู ููุฑุงูู ุงูููุบู
ููุฅูุฐุง ุฒููุฒููููู ุงูุฑููุนู ููููุฑ
39. And a noble Qahtani in his enclosure
Balanced in reason, noble when pressed

ุฑุงุฌูุญู ุงูุญููู

ู ุงูู
ูุนุชูุตูุฑ
40. He presents worries but does not sicken from them
Resolute in friendship, praised is his chest

41. And a generous, lavish man when he marched forth
The winds calm and he rests when it rests

42. If his obtainer flowed in the rock surface
It would have soaked the rock

43. How many blessings he has in the obtainer
And the Bani Afsa tribe and the Hayy Mudar tribe

44. So gain a conduit from his affection
Nobility from one loved by Ibn Salim and Nasr

45. You are a man whom one is not wretched through
Absent from us and not one who is present

ุบุงุฆูุจู ู
ูููุง ูููุง ุฏุงูู ุญูุถูุฑ
46. You came to us lost and revived joy
So praise be to you for one dead and buried

47. Do not fear my betrayal if I am absent
Fate interjects among some fates

48. It is I who gives you the utmost of my soul
And if you entrust me with good, I will be grateful

49. None sees the like of you but prosperity

50. Each day for you I have a special favor
And a white hand in which is stored away

51. We wished for rain to be given drink by it
Or to see a trace of it in our valley

52. We were a people whom dryness had withered
Eroding our cattle and palaces

53. We were but like dead land
In which there is no expectancy for the herder

54. You revived us when you took charge of us
And so does the land come alive through rain
