1. Your love haunts me like an eternal home,
And the morning visitor's talk intoxicates me.

2. A flask at my basin as if it contains
Truths of tattoos or inscriptions on a hand.

3. Whenever my eye sees it after deprivation
My tears flow like scattered pearls.

4. As if doves scribbled mourning inscriptions
On the house's wall, mourning my bereavement.

5. When I walked like the three, renewed was
My passion and death in the ever-renewed.

6. And my friend said, "She has passed away
So keep your love for another and guide me."

7. I said to him, "No ear remains for a hearer,
And the blame is only madness, so aim precisely."

8. Peace be upon her eyes from me, though tomorrow
She may depart to one not her usual place.

9. Abu Karib, she has not touched my distant love,
So my heart has not been estranged from your brother.

10. When I saw estrangement's face appear
And the guide of neighborhood and clan departed,

11. O her beauty! Were it not for the eyes
Which if unleashed one day would lead to the morrow!

12. Peace to the shapely one from me, and perhaps
I conversed with her, safe from a critic in private.

13. For a rain of three that does not quit doubt
I have kept my chastity and do not beg and am no outcast.

14. An apparition that visits me has increased
My passion, and the singing voice of a warbling companion.

15. And the length of lovers meeting, and a refuge
Where the remorseful slumber around it, then slumber.

16. The eyes of the deer walked by it as though they are
Maidens' wrists in white polished smooth.

17. Fool of Quraysh! Do not let the wishes
Misguide you to an error―you have attained your goal, so withdraw!

18. Echoes satisfy you with kingdom so you envy them,
And listening to music and owning slave girls are enough for you.

19. Fool of Quraysh! You owe no dread
Nor do you have a merit above slave women, so worship!

20. If you stand up you will not succeed, and if you promise,
The wishes will flee behind the followed leader.

21. And were it not for Commander of Believers Muhammad,
You would have returned bare inside a ruined palace.

22. Do not forget the Caliph’s favor after he settled you
In a lofty, well-built palace.

23. Be patiently content without Ahmad’s caliphate
And live in ease with what you have acquired and sleep!

24. If the caliphate's talk heads to Qannat,
And you march shaking the spear, they will say, “Withdraw!”

25. Do you not see that the caliphate is free
And that you, beside the living, are not supported?

26. Al-Mahdi, the family of Muhammad, will suffice it―
A hero who gave the world away like travelling supplies.

27. A man who was generous with the faith of the supported prophet
And miserly toward a creed of an unsupported man.

28. So let the terrified bird fly away or fall, for it only
Came to a king whose inheritance is from Muhammad.
