1. As if on the day she went out in her beauty,
Her lower half swayed and her upper half trembled.
١. كَأَنَّها يَومَ راحَت في مَحاسِنِها
فَاِرتَجَّ أَسفَلُها وَاِهتَزَّ أَعلاها
2. A houri came from Paradise advancing,
The sun was her rising and musk her perfuming.
٢. حَوراءُ جاءَت مِنَ الفِردَوسِ مُقبِلَةً
فَالشَمسُ طَلعَتُها وَالمِسكُ رَيّاها
3. Of those who wore silk and to whom beauty cleaved,
Making for her from the garment of beauty a robe it wrapped.
٣. مِنَ اللَواتي اِكتَسَت قَدّاً وَشَقَّ لَها
مِن ثَوبِهِ الحُسنُ سِربالاً فَرَدّاها
4. She went and did not give to his suffering
Anything from her, and if his soul had asked her she would have given it.
٤. راحَت وَلَم تُعطِهِ بِرّاً لِلوعَتِهِ
مِنها وَلَو سَأَلَتهُ النَفسَ أَعطاها
