1. What is there that has happened with its tools?
A light has shone above the ashes' hill

2. It illuminated the two horizons with its splendor
And the two wests were delighted with making it happy

3. O mercy you were guided by your Lord for the people
To establish the law of truth after its corruption

4. You are the Imam, the righteous, seal of His messengers
And the prince of those who tread the path of guidance by its smoothness

5. If they deny you, your Lord is an aide
Or if they support you, you are the head of their affection

6. You united the two worlds under one banner
That stands by the order of truth among its poles

7. And you left the falsehood of their living and called them
To the righteous deeds and their provision

8. If you wished you would have ruled the treasures without them
But you were dignified so you threw off the best of their striving

9. Neither do the relatives see any bias from you
Nor are the distant forsaken from your guidance

10. Rather you stood among them with God’s justice
So you gathered verses of gratitude from its cordiality

11. God prays upon you in His highest realm
And the Merciful’s angels during their testimonies

12. You call with verses of decisions from His signs
And you stand for consultation; the firm pillar of its columns

13. The palace of Chosroes collapsed with its tremors
And the jinn were repelled by the stab in their hearts

14. The light has shone upon the life ahead
And the inspiration of guidance after prolonged slumber

15. The defiantly disobedient ones He has humiliated them
Their devil with delusion in their shackles

16. They did wrong and were stubborn while guidance was around them
But they wandered in the paths of their obstinacy

17. Tell those who refused but sightlessness
You shall witness how grave are their affairs on day of harvest

18. Tell them: goals are not reached with grudges
So leave off the path of malice from its enviers

19. God dispenses His favor—Glory to Him
And He fully knows its deviance and righteousness

20. Can other than God’s law be wished for as law!?
So be patient with your Lord and endure its torment

21. And say: set yourselves aright toward the One who proportioned highness
Without pillars erected to raise its elevation

22. But if they turn away—then know—the One who
Ordained guidance has blinded them by its course

23. Know that truth is under its banner
Yet they strayed with evil disposition

24. For tomorrow they will know when shackled
By chains of hellfire on day of return

25. If only they had thought when the palm tree’s roots sighed
Or the pebbles spoke they would have cast off its reins

26. When you stood calling them: “I am
From your Lord guiding the path of its guidance”

27. They rejected you then staggered in their rage
As though they were climbing atop its hills

28. You came to them with generosity, completing
For whoever walked straight under its outpouring

29. And on day of opening you forgave them
No difference between its weak and strong

30. If you wished you would have wielded the swords but
The sword of forbearance is the best of what it yields

31. So you averted them to the truth with a truthful
Guiding turn toward righteous deeds from its tent pegs

32. History knows not of its like one day
So look to its paper and ink

33. You taught them in every day verses
Reciting the poetry of glory after its births

34. If only they had walked your path they would have avoided
Its pitfalls—but miserable are the roads of ruin

35. You did not call except to salvation yet they chose
The paths of demise—so observe the outcome of obstinacy

36. Your constitution is the Quran in its verses
For them is healing that strongly called from its summoner

37. The Merciful guides a people who hastened
With resolve that deterred the inertia of their slumber

38. The prophecies bore witness to you during their pledges
And the Merciful validated during its testaments

39. And all of them behind their Seal with what
The King ordered—may we attain our wishes

40. And the ascension showed you among His signs
That which shatters the minds in their hearts

41. After that is there an indication for a hopeful one
Who seeks the path of righteousness from its hunters

42. You demolished the fortress of polytheism in its darkness
For one who illuminates—and serious is its pursuit

43. And you stand building truth in its heights
A sun overlooking the lands of its country

44. Have you come ordering them but their own reform
Or have you come challenging them to evil of its pits

45. Nay—you came with the clear truth—whoever is guided
Then for himself he strives toward its fortune

46. And whoever desires the misguided paths and passions
Thus is the life with its worshipers
