5. You see the deaf rock singing the praises of its Lord
The smooth stones polished by the crashing torrent

6. When it emerges to the sun it casts off its burdens
And takes refuge in hillsides while splitting loudly

7. And it knows for certain that the beasts drive it back
From the sun an arrow piercing and moaning

8. It yearns for the soft flowing of water from every spring
Hoping the soft flowing of water will give it comfort

12. When it takes refuge in the shadows, the shadows
Of agony deny comfort and wound
