1. While the froth of men's affairs foams up all round,
We in the midst a place of calm have found.
١. فَبينا نَسوسُ الناسَ وَالأمرُ أمرنا
إِذا نَحنُ فيهم سوقةٌ نتنصّفُ
2. What though the joyance of this world decays!
It shifts with chance, while firm our order stays.
٢. فَأفّ لِدنيا لا يدومُ نَعيمها
تُقلّبُ تاراتٍ بنا وتصرّفُ
