1. Let me be, for I have saddled poetry for your sake
And raced it until I spanned the desert with it

2. I reached with it the east and west of yearning
And made it walk on land and sail the seas

3. With it I cast a rope for every infatuated one
And over the sea of love I built it into a bridge

4. With it I illuminated feeling in the night of my estrangement
So I adorned it with a star and illuminated it with a full moon

5. And I quenched the thirst of sand in the expanse of my despair
So I made it bloom into flowers and saturated it with fragrance

6. I saw the steeds of poetry surrounding me gravely
So I took only their reins as my back

7. And I followed only the path to you
And accompanied only contentment with you and good tidings

8. Let me be if you do not grasp the secret of my ardor
And do not know the meaning of longing and reminiscence

9. And do not ask about the galloping of the steeds of my poems
For they have become swifter than others in racing

10. Let me be and the steeds of poetry, for with their galloping
I distance my shadows and draw near the dawn

11. Let me be, for in my heart is the nectar of love
If it flowed on a land, it would transform it into flowers
