And people, and creditors and debtors

19. The passion blazed, do not ask about a weak one

With gallantry and dignity, sad

21. Our weakness, the enemy's strength, and if not
For my people's weakness, they would not befriend the monster

32. What heard the voice of mosques calling
Save us before they demolish us

33. How many female and male martyrs did we see

34. How can we protect Iraq, a land and people
Without a united rank that contains us?

35. How can we repel one with millennia
Who planted its stubborn head for ages?

36. How can we meet hostility with a feeble opinion
And paths that confuse the passersby?

37. Listen to us for we carry a love
If we lost it, we would not be advising

38. You were not as brotherly love would love
The body of disagreement was an obese body

39. Between East and West you lingered
Following the giraffe and the hyena

40. If you forgot some of what was from you
Then ask about my nation’s state and ask us

41. O rulers, we knew
What you knew, so we all know

42. Or are we not worthy to see what was hidden
From our peers, and know the relatives?

48. He coined from his ignorance a book he purported
To see in it Iblis as a companion and friend

49. It casts illusion into minds, and tosses
Its saddlebag by its illusion destitute

50. He remained raving about progress for a
Generation after generation, and claiming it for years

51. And the field of deception shone to show
To the victims of illusions a treacherous wolf

52. We knew the meaning of progress when
The Master of Messengers came with the truth

53. We have the banner of doctrine, in which
Are words that increase our enablement

54. It is the sun spreading light until
Illusion despairs of deceiving the eyes

55. Not like one who makes Islamic Law a path
Is one who makes man-made laws as religion

56. We have not been ignorant of the merit of men, for
We have known their genuine ones and the impure

57. O rulers, listen to us, for we
Have not been ignorant of you, and you have not ignored us

58. If together we raised the banner of guidance
We would make the rope of solidarity sturdy

59. You have seen as we saw altogether
The failure of our enemies in what they promised us

60. And you saw how they rode every back
Other than the back of loyalty, acting like lions

61. And you saw how they turned against us
With hearts that refuse to soften for us

62. They stripped us of shields, so when
They stripped us, with their arrow they aimed at us

63. All that was of empty claims collapsed
And what used to allure us vanished

64. And we stood together before the enemies
And by their fires we all were roasted

65. One great trench, we stood
In it, hoping for salvation from what we were tested with

66. We were, and still are, but the
Goal of the transgressors is that we not be

67. O rulers, come, establish
From the purity of hearts an impregnable fortress

68. Raise the banner of doctrine until
You see the dawn laughing unambiguous

69. When truths become a sun
Dawn testifies to the awakening of the sleepers

70. You will not see a thousand speeches and statements
Without action, attaining what you wish from us

71. This great nation lived
With our disputes, misery and discord

72. So grant it after defeat, resolve
To see in you the strong, the trustworthy

73. My nation, when it extends
Its hands toward us, wants only certainty

74. For it, the matter's end, while calling
Is to see us as its towering glories

75. It yearns to see sincerity from
A shining sunrise, clear, unambiguous

76. My nation built fortresses and hopes
That we will ward off hostility from it and protect it

77. O fortresses of glories, we have been
Preoccupied with our people’s disputes, forgive us

78. And be reassured, for we will come
With hearts that refuse for us to be submissive

79. Between my people and the path to glory
A thread of illusion, if they pass it, we would suffice

80. O fortresses of glories, receive good tidings, for
We have extended our hands to the morning

81. It is a return to God that erases
The shame of my people, and guides the lost
