1. I saw the crescent moon appear
As Pleiades came racing forth
١. رأَيْتُ الهِلالَ وَقَدْ أَقْبَلَتْ
نُجُومُ الثُّرَيَّا لِكَيْ تَسْبِقَهْ
2. Behind it they did persevere
With Venus between the two, so bright
٢. فَشَبَّهْتُهُ وَهْوَ مِنْ خَلْفِها
وَبَيْنَهُما الزَّهْرَةُ المُشْرِقَهْ
3. Like a bow for archer taking sight
Letting fly his gun for flight
٣. بِقَوْسٍ لِرامٍ رَأى طائِراً
فَأَرْسَلَ في إِثْرِهِ بُنْدُقَهْ
