1. May God have mercy on those who did not tend to me as I tended to them
And if my end is in the palm of death
١. رَعى اللَهُ مَنْ لَمْ يَرْعَ لي ما رَعَيْتُهُ
وإِنْ كانَ في كَفِّ المَنِيَّةِ مُودِعي
2. Oh my sorrow, increase my sorrow for it
Oh my liver, burst with anguish over it
٢. فَيا أَسَفي زِدْني عَلَيهِ تأَسُّفاً
وَيا كَبِدي وَجْداً عَلَيْهِ تَقَطَّعي
3. For I long for those I love
My longing is not with them, nor is their patience with me
٣. وَإِنِّي لَمُشْتاقٌ إِلى مَنْ أُحِبُّهُ
فَلا مَعَهُ شَوْقي وَلا صَبْرُهُ مَعي
