1. The festival gladdens others, not me
It but increases my longing and sorrows
١. مَنْ سَرَّهُ العِيدُ فَلا سَرَّني
بَلْ زَادَ فِي شَوْقي وَأَحْزَاني
2. For it reminds me of days gone by
Of my friends and brothers of yore
٢. لِأَنَّهُ ذَكَّرَني مَا مَضى
مِنْ عَهْدِ أَحْبَابي وَإِخْوَانِي
