1. O you who are like water in the making of your being
And like wine in the working of your inclination

2. You whom I have unveiled my virtue for, in passion towards you
And whose veil was ripped apart in loving you

3. O you by whose glance the sword of the eyes shed my blood
The sword whose pride is but in the blueness of its blade

4. You have taught these eyes of mine to swim and so
They swim in the water of their tears generously
