1. O my master, how long will this separation be?
Will it not have a day of nearness?
١. يَا سَيِّدِي كَمْ ذا البِعَا
دُ أَمَا لَهُ يَوْماً دُنُوُّ
2. You have seduced my heart with love,
Yet it has no solace from it.
٢. أَغْرَيْتَ قَلْبي بِالغَرا
مِ فَما لَهُ مِنْهُ سُلُوُّ
3. You have brought down my heart after
It had reached the highest levels.
٣. أَهْبَطْتَ قَلْبِي بَعْدَ ما
أَعْلى مَرَاتِبَهُ العُلُوُّ
4. So my friend saw its disgrace,
And my enemy saw its joy.
٤. فَرَأى صَدِيقي شَيْنَهُ
وَرَأى مَسَرَّتَهُ العَدُوُّ
