1. Sick at heart and body
Far from home and abode
١. عَلِيلُ القَلْبِ وَالبَدَنِ
بَعِيدُ الدَّارِ وَالسَّكَنِ
2. He wept and complained of his exile
From loved ones and native land
٢. بَكى وَشَكا تَشَتُّتَهُ
عَنِ الأَحْبابِ وَالوَطَنِ
3. Whoever yields to destiny
Without resistance, time's hand
٣. وَمَنْ أَعْطى أَزِمَّتَهُ
بِلا مَنْعٍ يَد الزَّمَنِ
4. Sells pleasure of life for naught
In this world, no worthy stand
٤. فَذَاكَ يَبِيعُ لَذَّتَهُ
مِنَ الدُّنْيا بِلا ثَمَنِ
