1. She traveled, so the next morning we were stirred,

As if she has concealed the passions.

8. Adamaa did not embolden her gilded earrings,
Except to champion the creed of the crucifixion.

9. Neither did her cheek mellow nor her eyelid sicken,
Except to perfect the seduction of Satan.

10. She veiled a moon with a cloud's abyss,
So it appeared like a full moon amidst smoke.

11. A Bedouin woman who did not know to conceal,
But that concealment was imposed on me.

12. My heart obeyed love for Farida,
And I forbade it from loving her, but it disobeyed me.

13. And I neglected all reproaches for loving her,
And restricted my praise to the Greatest of Fame.

14. Who came to us calling people to the path,
Of truth and the Mahdi from the Merciful.

15. The Merciful singled him out with brilliant wisdom,
And definite proof, the Quran.

16. So he spent the day establishing law, commanding
Righteousness, Islam and faith.

17. Kings bowed to his authority and knights scattered,
The arch of He With the Many Hands split in fear.

18. And his pillars were made to shake and crumble,
His pillars were shaken as if they were plant shoots.

19. A Karami maintaining religion with his blade.
A lion destroying the state of idols.

20. Amongst youths who freely gave their souls,
To elevate the religion of God, the pillar.

21. A people, when the sky clouded, you would see them
Leaving So-and-so to come to the aid of So-and-so.

22. They do not refrain from injustice in order to wear
The dust-laden garments of the fine Naji.

23. Ask about them at Badr, no, ask about them at Khandaq,
How many stalwart horsemen they finished off.

24. Ask about Abu Jahl at Badr when he came out
Amongst the ranks roaming about on the battlefield.

25. Where was his courage when he was thrown
Onto the glowing embers, discarded by the youths.

26. Their youths shoot the elders with injustice,
And their elders strike with both hands.

27. From their bosoms fires appear to the towns—
The fire of iron and fire above meadows.

28. They attained sovereignty and supremacy in the company of
The Chaste Zaki, the Auspicious Adnani

29. Who surpassed all prophets including Adam
In virtue—thus did the Throne and Contentment.

30. Nay, the soil of the Chosen One is better than the
Lofty Throne’s sphere—and better than any paradise.

31. O Greatest Intercessor I am a sinner,
I hope on the Momentous Day you do not forget me.

32. Nay, and quench my thirst on the Day of Return
With a filled cup, from Al-Kawthar.

33. For you do not accept humiliation for us,
Nor do you accept disgrace for us.

34. You accept, O Bountiful One, even if we
Are in dire straits from Hellfire’s blaze.

35. Then blessings upon you, O Guide to Righteousness,
And likewise peace in profuse bundles.

36. And to the Family and the Companions—the people of virtue,
Godliness, righteousness and beneficence.
