1. Harbinger of good tidings to Iraq
As spirituality reached its peak in us

2. And we were amidst wolves in sheep's clothing
And a stubborn demon and sons of hypocrisy

3. And impudent riffraff whose hands
Had extended for the ruin of composure

4. So we were laden with humiliation and every pitfall
And we were inclined to flee helter-skelter

5. And they had eclipsed the radiance of Zawraa
Which appeared as if it were the night of doom

6. Until there came a harbinger calling us
Bearing the glad tidings to friends

7. That Abu Al-Hussein is our minister
The glorious, protected sanctuary

8. A generous knight, a courageous hero
Lofty above the apex of the starry dome

9. He has wisdom counted among firmaments
He has generosity that has satisfied the flow of time

10. The glorious, of sublime morals
Ally of munificence, granter of wishes

11. He has justice that delights loyalists
And blinds those of conflict

12. Valiant, if he marched from atop hills
His gait would match the pacing of Al-Buraq

13. He would render every war hopeless
And foil their wittiest of stratagems

14. Abu Hasan, the radiance of Zawraa pales
In concurrence, outshining all cities

15. You have ascended singularly with destiny's good graces
It is deserved, you are Iraq’s sanctuary
