1. For you humanity boasts honor and might loftily upheld,
And glory towering over high places firmly established.

2. For you humanity the auspicious star has risen,
Beaming on the horizon of glory like flaming fire.

3. For you this age has come willingly obedient,
Approaching guided, with renewed glory led.

4. It has generously granted what you hoped would happen,
And openly declared its every intention.

5. You obtained the Sacred Garden’s pleasure, where you
Have always surpassed the finest leader after leader.

6. You were made governor of Kirkuk, and even if you had been
Made governor of Damascus or mighty Egypt, cradle of glory,

7. It would be paltry compared to your worth, which has
A platform of glory built atop the highest summit.

8. But know it is the harbinger, not the ministry itself,
Which will truly come to you tomorrow.

9. From it you will wear the garb of pride loudly proclaimed,
And it will establish you, O established one.

10. Kirkuk was secured from the onslaught of traitors
By you, and made an impregnable fortress.

11. It was protected from atrocities when your justice arrived,
As if intoxicated by the pride of the Arabian knight.

12. It wandered proudly where it wandered, and has become
Like Baghdad in security, in the days of Ahmad.

13. It has found safety now that justice dispels its darkness,
And does away with the world’s injustice and oppression.

14. So my two moons of joy sang at the celebration
The most splendid melodies of delight.

15. Across the horizons they sing glorifying
The glory and justice of Muhammad in noble Shahr Zur.
