1. I'm not unaware or inattentive,
Nor do I know what I'll retain or discard.

2. I've no cowardice, stinginess, or envy,
No hypocrisy, blame, or conceit in me.

3. My glory is inherited and my soul is free.
My hand is open and my traits are all gems.

4. I do not protest what my Lord decrees,
Though reason deters what He does not wish.
