1. I pursued knowledge from a young age until
I passed fifty over forty.

2. I taught the sciences and how much rare,
wondrous knowledge I imparted to students!

3. My intention in this was not fame,
nor to spite the noses of enviers.

4. Rather, I served the desired one,
the intercessor of creation, the best of those sent.

5. So how could I be blamed when the Chosen One has become
a fortress, a fortress protecting me from enemies?

6. And how could the injustice of enemies afflict me
when the Messenger of the Worlds is of my party?

7. So many tyrants were ignorant about us,
and now all are captives in their graves.

8. Oh, who will inform the enemies about us
that we are above the ignorance of the ignorant?

9. That God has continued to support us
and that God is the guardian of the Muslims?

10. That mischief has its pasture, and its tent peg,
and that our enemy did not remain for long.

11. Still, I swear by your life, I do not fear
for the enemies or feel distress.

12. Rather, I fear that if a punishment
comes upon them, it may strike the righteous.
